CS2 Update: Bug Fixes and Gameplay Improvements

The latest update for Counter-Strike 2 has introduced a number of important fixes and optimizations in the game. The developers have focused on improving gameplay, user interface, and maps.

Gameplay:

  • Fixed an issue where the player's shadow sometimes showed the wrong animation state.
  • Changed the weapon switching mechanic: releasing the fire button will no longer cancel grenade throwing (although restarting the round still will).
  • Implemented animation system optimizations.
  • Fixed several minor bugs in demo playback.

Interface:

  • Fixed a bug where starter pistols were not displayed in the "Pistols" section of the equipment.
  • Resolved an issue with the display of silencers on weapons in the hands of characters in the interface.

Maps:

  • Mirage: Fixed a gap under the doors in middle.
  • Anubis: Added a grenade clip on the wall near the bridge.
  • Vertigo: Changed the collision properties on the railings for correct footstep sounds.
  • Nuke: Fixed a bug with the sun material not creating a glow effect, and adjusted the material size. Cleared unnecessary objects on metal doors to prevent errors for mappers in the workshop. Fixed a visibility bug in the garage, looking towards Hell. Changed the collision properties on the railings.
  • Inferno: Changed the collision properties on the railings. Fixed a bug where some chimney models disappeared in the sky.
  • Dust2: Changed the collision properties on the railings.

This update provides improved gameplay and visual experience for players, helping to create a more realistic and balanced gaming environment.
