Matches in CS2 are six minutes shorter than long games in CS:GO

Analytical service Leetify conducted a study to compare the average duration of matches in CS2 and CS:GO, and then determine which version of the Valve shooter has quicker games. The representatives of the portal shared the results on social media.

Researchers analyzed a million matches in the "Premier" mode in CS2, as well as in CS:GO matchmaking, considering both short and long games. The results showed that the transition to the MR12 system had almost no effect on the duration of the matches. On average, CS2 games lasted 34 minutes, while long matches in CS:GO took 40 minutes, and short ones finished in 21 minutes.

Valve has previously hinted at the release date for the CS2 update. On the official game account on Twitter, they inquired about the subscribers' plans for September 27. Fans saw this as a hint at the shooter's official release.
