Counter-Strike 2 has lost 184,000 players in the past month, or 18.92% of its player base compared to September. This is the highest percentage of players lost since October 2012.
Counter-Strike 2 averaged 976,000 online players in September, a decrease of 18.88% over the month, a record for any Valve game. In October, the average number of Counter-Strike 2 players fell to 791,000.
Almost immediately after its release, CS2 set a record for peak online presence, but could not beat the results of CS:GO. At one point, 1.47 million people were playing the game simultaneously, compared to the previous record of 1.81 million.
The players are still complaining about optimisations, bugs and errors in the gameplay. Professional players continue to criticise Counter-Strike 2. The new game has become the lowest-rated Valve game on Steam.
