In CS2, there is a 60% increase in FPS on Windows 11

Today, data miner ThourCS conducted an interesting investigation on his Twitter and found that in Counter-Strike 2, there are more FPS specifically on Windows 11. Moreover, the FPS increase compared to Windows 10 is 60%.

Interestingly, the data miner had previously conducted the same test several times after different updates, and the FPS had always remained unchanged. This change is likely due to the latest updates where Valve is fixing graphical issues in the game.

Below, we provide you with FPS benchmarks on Windows 10 and Windows 11 published by ThourCS:

Average FPS:

  • Windows 10: 372.9
  • Windows 11: 391.2

1% FPS:

  • Windows 10: 245.9
  • Windows 11: 256.8

PC and Game Settings:

  • Video Settings - Low
  • Resolution - 1920x1080
  • NVIDIA Reflex - Enabled
  • HAGS - Disabled
  • Game Mode - Enabled

PC Configuration:

  • Processor: i5-12400F
  • Graphics Card: GTX 1660 Ti
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4

However, it is worth noting that the results may vary depending on the system and game settings. Additionally, as Microsoft themselves have mentioned, they are gradually phasing out support for Windows 10, and practically all development efforts have been shifted to Windows 11.
