Community Reacts to rain's Departure from FaZe Roster

On the evening of September 29, the CS2 community was stunned by the news of Håvard "rain" Nygaard leaving the active roster of FaZe, where he had played since 2016 and became a key figure in the organization's history. The Norwegian player spent 3,541 days on the team, won the club's only major with them, and was considered the last "veteran" in FaZe's CS lineup. In this article, we gathered the community's reaction to rain's departure.

YNk sharply criticized the team's decision:

After 10 years on the team, having been there from their entry into Counter-Strike, MVP of their sole Major win, rain deserved better than to be benched in the middle of the season.

They were not one move away from being a contender and he should've played out the season.

Freakazoid noted that the departure might benefit the player:

aint gonna lie cutting him or him leaving will preserve his career and he will probably be rain 2.0 on his next team shout out to the big norwegian
Freakazoid

Austin, a fan and content creator, reacted emotionally:

without faze, there’s no austincs. rain has been a part of faze cs since the day I started watching and I’m really sad to see this day finally come. Thank you rain for always making cs entertaining for me ❤️❤️❤️
Austin

smooya reminded everyone of the player's reputation:

15 years at the top and not one bad thing ever said about you, thats somehow more impressive than your work in the server - excited to see whats next for you goat😍
smooya

pashaBiceps expressed respect with his characteristic humor:

I've had the pleasure of playing with him many times. I've also had the pleasure of doing other things with him 😎. He's a great guy 💪🫶

All the best rain

James Banks summed up an entire era:

All good things must come to an end...3541 days on FaZe and he has done everything they needed and asked of him. A legendary legacy, super impressive from start to finish.

Interesting to see what he can do transitioning into IGL!
James Banks

Moses noted how strange it will be to see him outside of FaZe:

gonna be weird as hell to see you without a faze jersey after this long but i'm really excited to see what challenge you decide to take on next. glglgl
Moses

Maikelele, one of those who was there at the start of his career, recalled the transfer story:

I remember when I told ScreaM and Kinguin that I wanted to buy Howie out from LGB and people were extremely sceptical.

But after pushing for it very hard we can now (and for a long time) call this $20k investment aa huge success!

Good luck brother! Now we have no one since the beginning!🤣
Maikelele

KennyS highlighted rain's stature in esports:

A complete player, an amazing guy and a legendary player.

Once he retired (hopefully not now) he is straight hall of fame contender
KennyS

neL harshly criticized the timing of the decision:

Disappointing to let him go 2 months before a Major, some months away from the 10 years in the roster. FaZe better perform after that move tbh.
neL

The overall mood of the community is a mix of sadness and respect. For some, rain's departure marked the end of an entire era for FaZe, while for others, it was a chance for the legendary player to open a new chapter in his career.
