Cloud9 announced they have no immediate plans to return to CS2

Cloud9 announced their separation from head coach Konstantin "groove" Pikiner and manager Alexander "Sweetypotz" Shcherbakov. The American club stated that it does not plan to return to the discipline in the near future but left the door open for a future comeback, saying they love CS.

This decision followed the mass departure of players at the beginning of winter when  Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov, Sergey "Ax1Le" Rykhtorov moved to BetBoom, and Nikita "HeavyGod" Martynenko to G2. Timofey "interz" Yakushin became a free agent,  leaving Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutskiy as the only player still linked to Cloud9, who has been benched by the organization for almost a year.

Perfecto recently commented on his future, stating that one of the reasons for halting his career is the large buyout amount of his contract. While there is no information on when the player's contract ends, it is likely that he may move to another organization in the summer, as by then the buyout amount will be reduced.

Cloud9 is a major team with a history in CS. They are one of the few to win a Major, although that was back in 2018. Since then, the organization attempted to rebuild the roster twice but failed to achieve significant success. It was only in 2022 that Cloud9 managed to win IEM Dallas 2022, delighting fans with a long-awaited trophy.
