Bubzkji Will Not Return to the Pro Scene: the Story of the Biggest Injustice In CS:GO

Lukas Bubzkji Andersen announced the end of his career as an esports athlete.

The Danish player announced on his Twitter that he extended his contract with TV2 for one more year. He covers ESL and BLAST CS:GO tournaments in Danish on this channel. Unfortunately, this means that Bubzkji will not return to the pro scene. His last team was Astralis.

Bubzkji and Astralis

Bubzkji was in the Astralis academy for a long time. However, in 2020, during the online era, the players of the main Astralis roster began to go inactive one by one. First, Andreas Xyp9x Hoyslet took a break, then Lucas gla1ve Rossander went inactive. Bubzkji replaced these players. He also played in the lineup as a sixth player.

Bubzkji became exceptionally successful as a replacement. Yes, at first, it was difficult for him to adapt, but the results speak for themselves. He won the ESL Pro League Season 12 Europe with Astralis. As the main lineup player, he reached 3rd-4th place at IEM Cologne 2021 with not-too-bad statistics, considering his little LAN experience.

How Did Bubzkji Stay Overboard?

The last tournament for Bubzkji in Astralis was IEM Fall Europe 2021, the previous RMR tournament before PGL Major Stockholm 2021. And then he showed an excellent game, thanks to which Astralis took 4th place at RMR and went to the Major.

The Danish team had enough points to kick Bubzkji from the roster and return gla1ve to play at PGL Major Stockholm 2021. And Bubzkji was transferred to the reserve. As a result, the young Dane could not participate in the main tournament of the year, which his team passed, thanks to him. That was a total disrespect for the player and injustice.

The result was a failure at the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 and a promising reserve player who was not even included in the new team of the Danish club.

At the same time, Astralis did not try to keep the player, knowing that the team would lose two players at the end of the year. From that moment, the Danes started needing help with the squad and young players.

What Happened Next With Bubzkji?

Further, Astralis actively tried to sell the player to other organizations. Still, the club failed, and on December 31, 2021, the Dane became a free agent. After that, the player never returned to the pro stage.

This story shows how dangerous the modern CS:GO professional scene is for young players. Even with a good performance, young talents can lose everything in one moment. Therefore, stability should not be expected, as in any sport.

It also speaks to the incompetence of Astralis in working with young talents, which affects the club to this day.
