Boombl4 will play for Cloud9 at the Thunderpick World Championship 2023

The American organization Cloud9 announced on Twitter that Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov will stand in for the team at the Thunderpick World Championship 2023. The former captain of Natus Vincere will replace Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov, who left the team of his own accord yesterday.

Cloud9 roster for the Thunderpick World Championship 2023:

  • Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov
  • Abai “HObbit” Khasenov
  • Denis “electroNic” Sharipov
  • Ilya “Perfecto” Zalutskiy
  • Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov
  • Konstantin “groove” Pikiner (coach)

This change reunites the core of NAVI, which played together during 2020-2022. That team won numerous titles, including the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 and the Intel Grand Slam. Boombl4 left NAVI in 2022 due to reputational risks.

Cloud9's first match starts today at 11:00 EEST. The opponents for the Russian team will be fnatic. It is worth noting that the Thunderpick World Championship 2023 is an online tournament with a prize pool of $500,000, taking place from October 27 to November 5.
