BLAST forgot to close the Pick'Em Challenge after the start of the game day at the Paris Major - regular users were able to make changes to their predictions even after the end of the first few matches of the tournament.
Contrary to the perception of ordinary fans of CS:GO esports, the Pick'Em Challenge is not controlled by Valve itself, but by a particular tournament operator conducting the Major - it is he who manages everything related to the challenge.
What happened somewhat spoiled the essence of the Pick'Em Challenge - to predict the results of the Major stage before its start, not knowing fully about the form of this or that team. In it, you need to guess seven teams that will make it to the next stage, as well as one team that will win three matches without defeat, and one that will be eliminated from the tournament without a win. Thus, many players were able to edit their predictions, increasing their chances of receiving a gold or diamond BLAST Paris Major 2023 coin instead of a bronze or silver one.
Around 5:00 PM, the ability to edit for many disappeared. Some speculate that Valve will intervene to roll back late predictions, but so far, no such step has been taken.
