The first stage of the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 in CS:GO has concluded, and we now know the eight teams that have advanced to the "Legends" stage. This prelude to the more anticipated part of the Major was filled with exciting matches. Nevertheless, it's time to summarize the Challengers stage.
Final standings of the Challengers stage (top 8 teams advanced to the Legends stage)
Notable Players
BOROS once again continues to attract the attention of CS:GO fans, who increasingly predict his transition to a Tier-1 organization after the Major. It is unknown what plans the Jordanian player has in this regard, but he delivered excellent numbers in the Challengers stage. He had the highest headshot percentage (64.3%) and made the most headshots per round (0.50), second only to vsm, who has been eliminated from the tournament.
The best clutch players of the Challengers stage were acoR from GamerLegion and zorte from FORZE. Interestingly, these two players clashed in one of the deciding matches of the stage to secure a spot in the Legends stage. Both players had six clutches, but the russian player will no longer have the opportunity to increase that number due to being eliminated from the tournament.
Many of you rightly placed G2 as favorites with a score of 3-0 in Pick'Em. And it was the right choice as the team easily won three matches in a row. Sniper m0NESY made a significant contribution to G2's victories. Not only did he become the leader in rating (7.4 points), but he also claimed the top spot for first kills with a rate of 0.214.
acoR stood out not only in terms of clutches but also with blinding grenade assists (0.082 points). He surpassed broky and m0NESY in this category, both of whom also made it into the top 5 for assists. It remains to be seen how the situation will change in the Legends stage, but GamerLegion should not be underestimated.
