Tournament organizer BLAST shared information regarding the future of its events, answering the question of when they will transition to Counter-Strike in their competitive ecosystem.
For instance, the BLAST Premier Fall EU and NA Showdown, taking place from October 4 to 8, will be held on CS:GO. The reason given for hosting these tournaments on the older version of the game is the insufficient time available for teams to fully prepare.
Nevertheless, the BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2023 will already be played on CS2. The championship, with a prize pool of $425,000, starts on November 22. The Royal Arena in Stockholm will host the championship.
It's worth noting that such decisions from major tournament organizers are quite expected. On the professional scene, there's been a long-standing practice according to which significant updates appear on tier-1 tournaments with a certain delay, for example, the introduction of Anubis to the map pool.
