According to dust2.br, BLAST has extended the roster registration deadline for MRQ participants in the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 to May 9, 13:00 UTC (15:00 CEST). The reason was an unclear interpretation of article 3.2 in the official regulations, which led to a dispute between the manager of Complexity and BLAST, after which Valve provided clarification.
According to the updated interpretation, MRQ teams can change both the coach and the substitute player. Initially, they were allowed to replace only one of them. Following the clarification, BLAST adjusted the deadlines, giving MRQ teams an additional four days to make changes.
Teams invited through VRS, as before, had the right to finalize their roster by May 5. Now all major participants have the same conditions. Substitute players can be those who participated in MRQ but did not qualify.
The BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 will take place from June 2 to 22 in Austin, USA. Teams will compete for a prize pool of $1,250,000. You can follow the tournament progress in more detail via this link.
