B8, starting their performance at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025: European Regional Qualifier with two losses (0-2), managed to make an impressive comeback to a 3-2 score in the Swiss system. However, with only one slot available for teams with such a result, they had to secure two more consecutive victories. They delivered an outstanding qualification and proved they deserve a spot at the Major. For B8, this is a historic achievement — they have qualified for the main tournament for the first time, achieving this on their sixth attempt.
For Astralis, the situation unfolds differently — the team is missing their fifth Major in a row. The last time they competed was at the PGL Major Antwerp 2022. It seems changes in the lineup are imminent, and it's uncertain whether we'll see them at the next Major.
The first map was Mirage, chosen by B8. B8 started the match with fighting spirit and from the first rounds imposed a tight battle on Astralis. The first half ended in a draw, but after switching sides, B8 played much more confidently, showcasing a solid defense. The result — a victory for B8 with a score of 13:10.
The second map was Inferno, chosen by Astralis. On their map, they appeared more collected and focused. A confident attack and almost flawless defense in the second half left B8 no chance for a comeback. Astralis took the map with a score of 13:7, leveling the series.
The third was Ancient, where Astralis performed well and led 7-3 at one point. Then B8 regrouped and took two rounds. In the second half, Astralis also started strong, taking the game to 11-6. After that, B8 made an incredible comeback, pushing the game into overtime. There they won, with alex666 notably securing a 1v3 clutch in the final overtime round.
