Martin 'stavn' Lund of Astralis has shed light on the positive shift felt within the team after recent role changes and the appointment of Nicolai 'device' Reedtz as captain. In an interview with HLTV.org, the Danish player reflected on how these internal moves have not only changed the dynamics of the team but also restored a sense of familiarity and comfort for him and teammate Jakob 'Jabbi ' Nygaard.
Yeah, so far. I mean, it's still early days, but practice has been going really well. And as you said, with device moving into the in-game leader role, it's like the system we had in Heroic, me and jabbi. He and I basically have all the same positions we had on Heroic, and we feel a lot more comfortable now and we can have much more impact. We can also give input to device or talk mid-round in the positions that we're in. So, yeah, it just feels good to be back in the roles that I had been playing for years.
stavn stated. He drew parallels to the team's earlier days with Heroic, revealing that both he and Jabbi have returned to playing positions they previously held. This change has led to a notable increase in their comfort levels and the impact they can make in matches.
With device taking the helm as the in-game leader, stavn feels that the gameplay system resembles their time in Heroic, which is paying dividends in their current form. "We're back to the roles we've played for many years, and it feels great. We can now support device more, and contribute to mid-round calls," he added.
As Astralis advances to the semifinals of IEM Chengdu 2024, stavn's and Jabbi's revitalized roles could be the key to unlocking even greater success for the team. They're set to face the winner of the Team Liquid versus FaZe Clan matchup, with high expectations from fans and analysts alike. The newfound synergy within Astralis not only boosts their chances at the title but also reinforces the team's ability to adapt and evolve in the fast-paced world of CS2.
