cadiaN: “We want to find our style and achieve a comfortable position in the game”

Astralis roster captain Kasper “cadiaN” Möller and his team have arrived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to begin their journey at IEM Rio 2024. After failing at the Fall Final two weeks ago, the team is determined to come back with renewed vigor. The first round match of the top bracket of Group B against Eternal Fire is scheduled for 20:00, 7.10.24, and Astralis are ready to show their best.

cadiaN about the main tactical goals for the tournament

On the eve of the match, Astralis' captain spoke about the tactical aspects the team plans to focus on. “I want to see us succeed in the style of play we strive for. Although it is still at an early stage, I hope that, like in our second match against Spirit at the Fall Final, we will be able to manipulate the opponents' rotations and place players in their comfortable positions," said cadiaN.

Preparing for Eternal Fire

Astralis is set to take the match with Eternal Fire seriously. For cadiaN, an important aspect of the game is preparing for the opponents and being able to exploit any gaps in their strategy. “We just have to prepare as best we can and take advantage of any weaknesses we find during the preparation,” the captain added.

Recovering from illness and working on teamwork

According to cadiaN, the team's preparation was somewhat complicated because some of the players fell ill after the Fall Final. However, the last few days of training have been productive. “We didn't have a lot of opportunities to train because of the illness, but we worked hard in the last few days,” says cadiaN.

Plans for the development of map pool and team play

As for the map pool, cadiaN admits that the team still needs time to develop. "We don't have enough repetitions on different maps yet, but we all see the game the same way. We need more time to play together to realize this in matches,” he said.

Astralis already had the experience of meeting Eternal Fire in April at ESL Pro League Season 19, where they won 2-0, winning on Overpass 13-9 and Vertigo 13-5. Now, the team has ambitions not only to repeat their success, but also to show that they are ready to go after the victory at the tournament in Rio.
