The European qualification for PGL Bucharest 2025 has given us one of the main sensations of the year - the Polish team Apogee, which no one considered a serious contender a few months ago, wins a slot to the prestigious tournament!
How Apogee conquered the European qualification
On the way to victory, they beat a number of eminent teams, making them doubt their role as an underdog. A relatively easy start in the group was followed by intense matches in the playoffs.
- In the group stage of the top bracket, Apogee defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas (2:1) and fnatic, proving that they are not afraid of teams from the top scene.
- In the playoffs, they knocked out BetBoom, but in the grand finals, Apogee left no chance for the favorites, winning Ancient (13:5), losing to Nuke (14:16), but taking Dust2 (16:14) and Anubis (13:9).

Polish miracle: who are these guys?
Apogee is a team that is not even in the top 50 of Valve's rankings. However, their style of play, cohesion, and individual form of individual players made it possible to do the impossible. HypEx became the best player of the final, but we should especially mention jcobbb, who showed a stable game throughout the tournament.

What's next.
Apogee gets the opportunity to play at PGL Bucharest 2025, where they will compete for $1.25 million alongside G2, FaZe, Virtus.pro, The MongolZ, Liquid, and other top teams. This is a historic moment for Polish CS2 - a team that no one took seriously has proven that it is ready to compete with the best.
Will Apogee become the main sensation of the year, or is it just a short-term blip? We will find out in April at PGL Bucharest 2025!
