Once again, it didn't work out. EG leaves IEM Dallas 2023

The American organization Evil Geniuses has left IEM Dallas 2023. In their last match, the guys faced off against Complexity. And once again, the team finishes in last place in the tournament.

Today, the EG team played their final match at IEM Dallas 2023. The players faced Complexity and lost the match with a score of 0:2.

The first map was EG's pick - Anubis, which they lost convincingly with a score of 2:16!

Next up was Overpass, the pick of the EG team, where our heroes fought hard but ultimately lost 17:19.

Recall that in their first match, the team nearly defeated the tournament favorite, FaZe Clan, on the Mirage map, but unfortunately lost with a score of 17:19!

Also, it's worth recalling what Evil Geniuses captain Sanjar "neaLaN" Ishkakov said about the team's preparation for IEM Dallas 2023:

We always try our best, aiming to win tournaments, matches, qualifiers, and anything else. But I think IEM Dallas 2023 is the first tournament that Evil Geniuses have really prepared for because we had a very good boot camp. The Dallas tournament is the last tournament [before the break] for us, so we will do everything possible to make it to the playoffs.

And what happened before IEM Dallas 2023?

As we all know, things have been going horribly for the team. And "horribly" is an understatement. The team's last tournament victory was a whopping three years ago: ESL One: Cologne 2020 Online - North America!

And here's what happened in recent championships:

And the list can go on for a long time until that last victory.

Currently, the team roster looks as follows:

Many analysts speculate about potential roster changes and simply don't understand why money is being spent on this "dead" lineup. However, the EG organization has not made any statements yet.

IEM Dallas 2023 is taking place from May 29th to June 4th in Dallas, USA. The teams are competing for a prize pool of $250,000 and a slot at IEM Cologne 2023. You can follow the schedule and results of the competition through the link.
