A Reddit user is having trouble getting Prime status

A post appeared on Reddit, as a user returned to the new Counter-Strike 2 after 3 years and found that he had no Prime account status, although there are medals and a badge in his profile about the enabled Prime.

He contacted Steam technical support and after telling about his problem, he received a response from support:

Beginning May 10th, 2024, players who launch Counter-Strike 2 for the first time will not have Prime Status if they had previously received a complimentary Prime Status license through gameplay in CS:GO.

Please note, we cannot restore complimentary copies of Prime Status to accounts at Steam Support. Prime Status can be purchased in-game or through the Steam Store.

Based on this response, we can understand that those who previously received Prime Status simply by reaching a certain level by moving to CS2 will not receive Prime Status and will need to purchase it through the game or through the Steam Store.

One of the users who read the reply from Steam Support suggested that they are removing the number of unused Prime accounts so that people can't sell them for cheap and they will be bought by cheaters to play CS2.
