All RMR qualifications for the first major in Counter-Strike 2, PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, have come to an end. Well, for us, this means that the brightest show is about to start very soon. But first, let's conduct a brief analysis of the past RMR qualifications.
In this article, we'll look at five disappointments of this tournament.
Astralis
Let's not beat around the bush and start with the hot topic. The Danish organization Astralis will miss the first major in the history of Counter-Strike 2. Once a legendary lineup in CS:GO, which won 4 majors, didn't make it to the first in CS2.
But how did this happen? Let's start from the far end; at the very end of 2023, the team signed two players who left Heroic, namely Martin "stavn" Lund and Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard. Changing two players in the lineup could easily shake morale and strategy in the matches themselves. And there was also not much time to play together and come up with new rounds. That's why we got such a result.
And this is despite the fact that stavn ranked 16th in the best players of the year in 2023. But it cannot be said that the team did not show itself at all at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR B. Here's how the team's match results look at this championship:
The RMR team finished with a 2:3 result, which led them to the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR Decider. Where, unfortunately, they lost their first match against 9 Pandas with a score of 0:2. That's how PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 ended for Astralis. And here's what Astralis players' statistics look like for the RMR:
Ninjas in Pyjamas
For the first time in their history, the Swedish organization Ninjas in Pyjamas team did not qualify for a major in Counter-Strike. And how painful it is to miss the first one in Counter-Strike 2. Yes, what to say, if after being knocked out of the RMR, three players left the team almost immediately.

But, let's look in detail at why this happened. And here everything is on the surface. The team changed players in its lineup throughout the entire year of 2023. And by the end, they even brought Patrick "es3tag" Hansen from the bench, who had not appeared at tournaments for more than half a year, not to mention tournaments. He hardly played Counter-Strike at all. And possibly even contemplated ending his career.
But es3tag is not the only problem. The organization's choice of players was maximally strange in general. But let's leave that and move on to the results. But truthfully, it's sad to look here. Ninjas in Pyjamas were eliminated from PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR A with a score of 0:3. And they didn't win a single map!
And here's what the players' statistics actually look like:
Team Falcons
And finally, we've reached the multimillion-dollar lineup that didn't meet expectations. And the name of this lineup is Team Falcons. How much buzz they made on social media when they were ready to pay millions for the world's best players, such as NiKo, m0NESY, or s1mple (He ended up there, but only for a month). But still, they didn't get the lineup they dreamed of.
Because Team Falcons were eliminated from PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR A with a score of 1:3. But here at least they won two maps, unlike the previous ones.
So, in general, there's not much more to say here, just a lineup made up of good players didn't play together and didn't perform as expected. So, the moral of the story is: Money can't always solve everything. And here's what the players' statistics look like:
Monte
And here's another sad story. The Ukrainian organization Monte, top 8 of the last major, did not advance to the main stage of the first major in Counter-Strike 2. Yes, it can be put down to the fact that the team played their first match with a substitute due to Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev being ill. However, after that, the guys just couldn't find their game.
But it's worth giving credit to the guys, even though they were eliminated from PGL Major
Copenhagen 2024: European RMR B with a score of 1:3, all their games were super equal, and just one round could have changed their fate. But no miracle happened.
All that remains is to wish the guys luck and that they don't give up! Because there are only more successes ahead. And here's what the players' statistics look like:
GamerLegion
Who would have thought, the finalists of BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 did not make it to PGL Major Copenhagen 2024. Yes, that's the harsh world of competitive Counter-Strike. But credit should be given to the organization, as after their last spectacular performance, players were poached one after another, and in the end, three players from the previous lineup remained, who changed their place of residence throughout 2023.
But it's worth noting that the team finished their participation at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR B with a 2:3 score, after which they reached the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR Decider final, where they lost in a very sweaty battle to 9 Pandas, who will ultimately go to Copenhagen. And Snax could have been at a major again...
And here's what the players' statistics look like:
Let's remind that at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR B, 16 teams competed, but only 8 of them advanced. The major itself will start on March 17, 2024. The prize pool will be $1,250,000.
