General Information

1. This is the 21st major in the history of Counter-Strike. Valve has been hosting these tournaments for 10 years.
2. This is the second major in CS2 after BLAST Paris Major 2023.
3. This is the first major hosted by Perfect World.
4. Perfect World is the 9th tournament organizer to host a CS major. Others include: Dreamhack, ESL, MLG, ELEAGUE, PGL, FACEIT, Starladder, and BLAST.

Location

1. Shanghai becomes the 16th city to host a Major. Others include: Jonkoping, Katowice, Cologne, Cluj-Napoca, Columbus, Atlanta, Krakow, Boston, London, Berlin, Stockholm, Antwerp, Rio, Paris, and Copenhagen.
2. China becomes the 11th country to host a CS Major. Others include: Sweden, Poland, Germany, Romania, USA, UK, Belgium, Brazil, France, Denmark.

4. Germany and Poland have hosted more majors than any other countries — 4 tournaments each.

1. The Shanghai Major prize pool will be $1,250,000. It is the fourth major with this amount. The Stockholm Major was the only one with a $2,000,000 prize pool.
2. Four new organizations debut in Shanghai: Passion UA, Wildcard, Rare Atom, and FlyQuest.

1. NAVI is the only organization that hasn't missed a single major.
2. For FaZe, this will be their 14th consecutive major. Heroic will play in their sixth consecutive major.
3. Three teams that participated in the first major will compete in Shanghai: Complexity, fnatic, and NAVI.
4. Astralis holds the record for the most major wins (4). They also hold the record for consecutive wins (3).
5. Virtus.pro remains the only team unable to defend their title after winning a major (Rio Major 2022).
