Team Liquid is 1-1 heading into the third day of international competition at First Stand 2025. After trouncing EU's Karmine Corp, the LTA squad found themselves on the opposite end of a drumming at the hands of the LPL's Top Esports. Despite Yeon's best efforts, TL was not able to pick up a map win in their series against the LPL champs.
With Karmine Corp facing an impossible task, TL are all but confirmed to make it to the playoff stage of the tournament. That being said, they still have the opportunity to cause an upset with Hanwha Life still on the horizon. A win against CFO would secure third place and a rematch against one of the top dogs in the LPL or LCK. After their series against TES, Yeon and TL jungler UmTi spoke to the press briefly for a post-match press conference.
Yeon and UmTi press conference

After the first two matches, what do you think of TL's adaptations to First Stand?
Yeon: To be honest I don't think we adjusted very fast at the start but I think as the tournament went on and more days went on we definitely adjusted and I do think we have a solid game plan in what we want to do. I think we have a more solid idea of how we want to play more than we did in previous international events.

How did you feel playing against Kanavi today?
UmTi: Kanavi keeps up really good tempo and he has a really good idea when his turn is and I already knew how good he was at teamfighting and I can definitely tell how good he is now, I think he has a very good belief in himself and his decisions. He has high confidence so right now I'm just pretty upset that I lost against him.
Now that you've had your best performance yet versus JackeyLove, is he still your father?
Yeon: Hello father [laughs]. To be honest, I think I feel like every international I meet him, I think JackeyLove is very good. It's very hard to strictly I would say beat. I would say I definitely did better than I did last time. Especially considering MSI, but still very good.

What are your regrets as a team against Top Esports?
UmTi: I think I was really regretful about the teamfighting (versus Top Esports) I think we could have done a lot better. But I personally think that I could have shotcalled a little better to lead our team into a better teamfight. But I feel like mostly focused and watched them play with my eyes so I think that is what I am very regretful about. I could tell that just by looking at the map the enemy always had a faster tempo so I think I am very regretful about that one.

What was the impression of the Top Esports bottom lane this series and was there anything they did that caught your eye?
Yeon: To be honest, me and CoreJJ are a very strong bot lane duo, especially in the laning phase. I think that we knew that they were very solid. We were wondering if Crisp made any difference from Meiko in the laning phase, but I would say their laning phase is pretty much the same. I think they're still very solid, very good.
What are the key takeaways heading into HLE and CFO?
UmTi: Probably the teamfighting, I think we should take away the teamfight and individually how can we play better and thinking how our teamplanning can be better.
