On January 24, another game day of the LCK Cup 2025 took place. Two matches were played — DRX versus BNK FearX and T1 against KT Rolster. In this material, we summarize these encounters.
BNK FearX versus DRX
In this encounter, DRX were the favorites, which they demonstrated on the first map. A good champion draft, coordinated play, and complete control of the map is how DRX can be described on the first map of the match. Although, to be honest, the game was somewhat prolonged due to minor mistakes.
The second map was even until the very end, but a loss in a crucial fight took away DRX's chance to finish the series 2-0. In BNK FearX, their ADC Diable particularly shone, who shows excellent results in almost every series. This time, on his Varus, he destroyed the opponent's bot lane, allowing his team to secure important objectives which played a role in the victory on the second map.
On the third map, it initially seemed like we were about to see another fierce game with an unknown winner until the end. But unfortunately, this lasted only until the mid-game where DRX got ahead in gold thanks to victories in important fights, and started punishing BNK for their mistakes. Notable was the excellent play on Lillia by Sponge from DRX, who ended the map with a score of 10/1/5.
T1 versus KT Rolster
The main match of the day, the match of T1 and against whom else but KT Rolster, this encounter is also called Telecom Wars. Because T1 has long been sponsored by SK Telecom as have KT Rolster. A few hours before the match, it became known that Gumayusi would not participate in the match, and Smash from T1 Academy was called instead.
The first map was a blowout from T1 as they completely dominated the map despite the new player and showed excellent individual performance. The newcomer should be noted, as he had not only an excellent map but the whole series, on this map he showcased great play on Kai’Sa and secured the first kill, which is important for acquiring tier 3 boots.
On the third map, the result was similar to the first but this time T1, with even more zeal, crushed KT Rolster, finishing the map with a score of 15:2 in kills. Notably, Smash secured the first kill for his team on all three maps, helping them gain an advantage in mid and late game.
The absence of Gumayusi after the game was commented on by KkOma: "The reason is that we want to try as many things as possible during the LCK Cup to collect the best data and information"
