The insider Big Bad Bear shared new footage that allegedly shows an updated winter map for League of Legends. According to the leak, the New Year's Summoner's Rift might return in the second Act of the current season.
The first image shows the center of the mid lane with the distinctive King Poro symbol. Other screenshots display altered fountains, decorated in a festive style with winter decorations and blue icy textures. It is still unclear whether the map will be available for the entire Act or will be a temporary mode.
The return of the "Chosen of Winter" line is also anticipated, featuring a new prestige skin for Mel, which has already appeared in leaks. These events seem to be combined into a single winter event.
According to the insider, an official Riot Games dev blog might be released as early as October 6, where the update details could be confirmed. In the past, the company has already used temporary winter map themes, and the return of this tradition seems like a logical development of seasonal events.
