According to sources close to Netflix, a continuation of the animated series "Arcane" based on the League of Legends universe is in development. The new season, dedicated to Noxus, is expected to be titled "Steel and Chains" and will consist of 10 episodes. However, as before, some elements may change as the project is still in development.
The season will not follow the familiar tradition in which Swain is presented as the main villain. Instead, the villainous figure will be LeBlanc, who will likely meet her end within the show. The intrigue will focus on her confrontation with Swain and on Mel's story, who will become the main protagonist of the new season.
Mel will receive a lot of attention as her storyline will be connected to the Black Rose — an organization that controls the minds of the entire Noxus region. An important aspect is her relationship with Swain, who will be her mentor. Swain, in turn, was acquainted with Ambessa and sees great potential in her daughter.
The prologue of the season will be dedicated to the origins of Swain and LeBlanc's rivalry, as well as Mel's past, including her childhood. Also planned is a spin-off revealing that Jinx survived the events that took place in the original series.
The writing team has been significantly expanded compared to the previous season, promising to improve the quality of storytelling and world-building. As of the publication of this material, the exact release date for the continuation of the "Arcane" series is unknown.
