Rumors: League of Legends 2 Could Launch in the Second Half of 2026

Information has surfaced online suggesting that League of Legends 2 might be unveiled in the second half of 2026. This announcement was made on Weibo but was quickly removed. However, users managed to spread screenshots of it across the internet.

According to the source, LoL 2 will retain the core of the familiar gameplay but will undergo a complete technical redesign—from a new engine to revamped graphics and updated code. The developers plan to conduct a significant rebalance of champions, as well as enhance their abilities and mechanics to improve gameplay smoothness and balance match dynamics.

In addition, performance and visual effects are expected to be optimized, aiming to make the game more modern and responsive while maintaining the recognizable style of the original. According to the source, this update could become the biggest technological leap for the MOBA genre since Dota 2 transitioned to Source 2.

Previously, Riot Games introduced a new League of Legends champion—Zaahen, whose release is scheduled for patch 25.23. The champion will be a new Darkin with a mechanic for accumulating attack power and a resurrection effect. More information about the new champion can be found in the article.
