Riot Games has updated its policy to ban the use of third-party apps for tracking enemy ultimate ability timers. The new rules will take effect on March 13, 2025, at 08:00 CET. Third-party apps in League of Legends help players analyze their gameplay and improve their skills. Popular apps provide information on item builds, likely opponent movements, jungle camp timers, and other match aspects.
From now on, all third-party programs must remove this feature, or their API keys will be deactivated. The ban applies to both automatic and manual tracking of enemy ultimates.
This change aims to maintain fair play and eliminate mechanics that allow players to gain an advantage without the need to memorize information manually. Both automatic and manual ultimate timers are banned.
It is currently unknown if this will be the only restriction. In the future, Riot may also prohibit other features, such as map camp timers or collecting additional information about opponents, if deemed a violation of game balance.
