User SkinSpotlight has shared significant changes to the role system in League of Legends—Riot Games is introducing automatic items and spells for supports and junglers, as well as simplifying role swapping during the pick phase. This information was posted on the social network X.

Now, players choosing the jungler role automatically receive the Smite spell at the start of the game. Moreover, each team can only have one player with Smite, making the jungler role strictly unique and eliminating the possibility of duplicate junglers in unconventional strategies.

Support players will be given the World Atlas item at the beginning of the game. Additionally, if a support stays in the lane throughout the laning phase, they will receive extra benefits, encouraging players to perform their role more diligently.

During the champion selection phase, there will be an option to swap roles with teammates. The main condition is mutual agreement, so there’s no need to negotiate through chat anymore: everything is implemented through the selection interface.

These changes are aimed at strengthening team identity and each player's role on the map, as well as combating disruptive behavior and chaos during the draft phase. The updates are expected to appear on the test servers in upcoming patches.
