The United League of Legends in the Pacific region is proving its potential — Mid-Season 2025 set an all-time peak online record.
After a successful first split, it was anticipated that the League of Legends Championship Pacific could break records, and the second split did not disappoint. During Mid-Season 2025, the tournament's peak online viewership increased by 85% compared to the debut split, marking the best result in the history of regular LoL competitions in the SEA region.
The main driver of growth was the league's structure: unlike the LTA, where teams from different regions only meet in the later stages, in the LCP, inter-regional matches occur throughout the season. This sparked interest from fans in various countries — especially Vietnam and Taiwan, whose teams traditionally dominate the region.
The Mid-Season final turned into a true derby of titans — CTBC Flying Oyster defeated GAM Esports with a score of 3:2, and the peak number of viewers exceeded 483,000, setting a record for regular tournaments in the Pacific.
While the peak online viewership is impressive, the average figures throughout the season remain stable — and even slightly decreased compared to the first split (by ~3%). This points to a problem: finals attract a massive audience, but interest in regular matches has yet to be maintained at the same level.
Now, CTBC Flying Oyster and GAM Esports will represent the region on the international stage. First at the Mid-Season Invitational 2025 in Vancouver, and then at the Esports World Cup 2025 in July. We continue to watch the remaining regions where participants for international tournaments have yet to be determined.
