It is a glorious day for League of Legends fans as the LCK has announced in the past 24 hours that they will be moving to the highly popular fearless draft for the remainder of the 2025 season. The news comes after Riot Games announced the decision to include Fearless Draft for the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational and the 2025 League of Legends World Championship.

This was an expected move by the LCK, who has been one of the regions that has showcased the entertainment value of the Fearless Draft rule the most. Hanwha Life, the recently crowned First Stand winners, for example, went the distance in every single one of their best-of-fives in the LCK Cup Playoffs, meaning in each of their playoff matches, 50 League of Legends champions were banned come the start of the fifth and final game.
Fearless Draft has been in demand for quite some time with Riot eventually making the decision to include the ruling full-time. This was expected to cause ripple effects across the entire LoL esports landscape with potential formats having to change to accommodate Fearless Draft. This seems to be the case in the Americas region, which at the time of writing, is having a best-of-one double round robin. However, the LTA North did address on their X (formerly Twitter) page that there will be some changes after the news of Fearless Draft staying for the 2025 season was confirmed by Riot Games.

As for the LCK format, the league should have no trouble with its formatting as it follows the standard double round-robin best-of-three format that the LCK fans have known and loved over the years since the inception of franchising in South Korea. At the time of writing this article, the dates for Rounds 1-2 of the LCK have yet to be confirmed but it is expected to start in April once the rest of the domestic leagues resume.
