On January 31, another match day of the LCK Cup 2025 took place. Two matches were played — DN Freecs versus KT Rolster and Hanwha Life Esports versus DRX. In this material, we summarize these matches.
Dn Freecs versus KT Rolster
DNF started the first map very strongly, showcasing excellent work from the coaching staff and completely outplaying at the draft stage. The entire team played brilliantly, executing their champions flawlessly, leaving no chance for the opponent. Special mention to Pyosik on Vi, who excellently initiated fights and created advantages for his team.
Ideally, the third map should have been tense, but unfortunately, this wasn't the case. The entire game followed the script of the second map, with KT Rolster demonstrating complete dominance across the map again. This time, the spotlight was on the team's star Bdd and his Syndra.
Hanwha Life Esports versus DRX
This game was much richer in skirmishes and kills than the previous encounter. As everyone knows, HLE was the favorite in this match and began to prove it from the start. Good communication and macro play from the entire team led them to an easy win on the first map. We must note Viper on Varus, who ended the map with a stunning score of 10/1/7.
On the second map, we saw at least some resistance from DRX. Towards the end of the game, they won a fight they shouldn't have, and it seemed like a comeback was imminent, but HLE managed to clutch the second map. Considering the youth of the DRX lineup, it was a good attempt to fight against a giant. Their gameplay indicates that this team has a future.
Team Standings in Groups
Matches in this tournament are held between teams from opposing groups: "Baron" and "Elder". However, the points earned are counted within their respective group. The tournament organizers aim to diversify the routine of professional tournaments in this way.
LCK Cup 2025 is held in a group stage and playoff format involving 10 teams divided into two groups. Each group consists of 5 teams, and the seeding was conducted based on results from tournaments in 2024. A spot is contested for the First Stand 2025.
