Karmine Corp launches Blue Stars: Third new Division 2 LFL roster

Project Blue Stars by Karmine Corp will become the third team to join the second division of the LFL next season, following Valiant and Skillcamp. This was announced on Saturday at the KCX 4 event, which gathered about 28,000 spectators at the U Arena in Paris.

The Blue Stars project was first introduced at the previous KCX at the same venue. The aim of the project is to discover new talents for the League of Legends scene. The academy is open to players under the age of 19, and applications are currently being accepted.

History and Development

The return of Karmine Corp to the second division is symbolic, as the team began its journey in the second division of France under the name Kameto Corp. In a short period, it achieved significant success and moved to the LFL, where it placed third in its only season in the second division. Since then, the club has rapidly developed, becoming one of the top teams in the LFL before making it to the LEC this year. Despite this advancement, Karmine Corp remains committed to the French scene, maintaining an academy team in the LFL.

New Stage of Development

Starting from 2025, Karmine Corp plans to structure player development at three levels, similar to how Korean teams have implemented it in the LCK, with subdivisions such as LCK CL and LCK AS. The emergence of Project Blue Stars is one of the most significant events for the second division, as since 2023, LFL teams were prohibited from fielding rosters in the lower league. This rule, which caused negative reactions and the departure of TPAA and the LDLC OL academy, now appears to have been lifted.

New Horizons for Karmine Corp and LFL

The Blue Stars project will enable Karmine Corp not only to rely on local talent but also to create an internal player development system. Such initiatives demonstrate the club's commitment to a stable future for French esports, creating new opportunities for young players to develop in the LFL and potentially one day reach the LEC.
