G2 tried to acquire Caliste, but Karmine Corp refused the trade

ADC Caliste "Caliste" Henry-Hennebert is set to make his debut on the LEC stage with Karmine Corp next year. This moment has been highly anticipated by the player's fans, and although he previously hinted at joining the main roster, official confirmation of the contract was delayed.

The French talent signed a three-year contract with Karmine Corp last year, ahead of their LEC debut. However, despite the organization's announcement, Caliste couldn't start playing in the LEC immediately as he wasn't 18 yet, which violated the league's minimum age requirement.

G2 Esports Target Caliste

During the offseason, G2 Esports showed a serious interest in Caliste, initiating negotiations with Karmine Corp. According to Sheep Esports, G2 considered a deal that would not only include a significant buyout fee for the player but also a possible exchange of three team stars: jungler Martin "Yike" Sundelin, support Mihael "Mikyx" Mehle, and ADC Steven "Hans Sama" Liv. However, Karmine Corp declined this offer.

Refusing such a trade might seem unexpected to many, but there are reasons for this decision. Firstly, support Raphaël "Targamas" Crabbé has already received confirmation from Karmine Corp that he will remain on the roster for 2025. Moreover, the contracts of G2 players would likely be too costly for KC's budget.

Contract Finalization and Prospects for the Next Season

Now Caliste is confirmed as a part of Karmine Corp's roster for 2025, where he will reunite with Targamas. This pair of players already claimed the EMEA Masters trophy with KC in 2023, and fans eagerly anticipate their return to the LEC. Although their bottom lane is set, rumors persist about Yike possibly joining Karmine Corp. However, KC faces competition from teams GIANTX and Rogue, who are also interested in signing Yike.
