With First Stand in the rear view mirror, EMEA fans will have their sights firmly set on the 2025 LEC Spring Split. This is the second of three League of Legends splits for the region, and two spots at the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational are on the line. Karmine Corp has all the momentum after reaching their first international final and international event. They are the hottest ticket in town and will want to do everything to keep their hot streak going.
Stay tuned as we preview the 2025 LEC Spring Split. From the favorites, to the dark horse, to the underdogs, and more.
LEC Spring 2025 favorites

There is only one place to start and that is the reigning LEC champions in Karmine Corp. The Blue Wall was able to pick up its first-ever LEC title after a string of tenth-place finishes in years gone by. They are now the team to beat, and the question is, who is going to rise up to the challenge and stop them? Canna ended up being the star of First Stand 2025, putting up incredible performances game after game, a momentum he would like to take into this next split in the LEC. With international performances under their belts, we expect even more of a level up from the young stars in Caliste and Vladi, with the pair both showing promising results against some of the best players in the world.
Can G2 regain their magic?

G2 Esports, for the first time in a while, is not the main dog of Europe. They were dismantled in the Winter grand finals by Karmine Corp 3-0, meaning they did not make the first international event of the year. The team has evidently struggled to adapt to life without MikyX, who is still proving to be one of the best supports in the region. By all means, G2 did not have a bad Winter split; however, they even went as far as taking down Karmine Corp 3-1 in the upper bracket finals. So the ability is there, but the question is whether they can elevate themselves enough to take down Karmine Corp when it matters most.

The LEC dark horse

It's weird to call Fnatic a dark horse considering how well they also did this most recent split, but here we are. Fnatic is a good team, and they showcased as such in the regular season, but time and time again, when push comes to shove, Fnatic can't get over the line. Fnatic did look much better in the Winter split, however, with MikyX looking to be one of the signings of the season, proving why it was likely a mistake for G2 to let go of him. Fnatic are clearly a top-three team in the region, putting KOI to the sword and them taking the eventual champions Karmine Corp to five games. There are signs of life for Fnatic, and perhaps a break may have done the trick to get them in the best place possible to secure another championship, finally.
Who are the underdogs

Movistar KOI is the team that was able to push the top teams the most throughout the Winter Split. There were high hopes for this European squad given the acquisition of North American star mid laner Jojopyun. And while he had some bright moments in the year, the NA player disappointed with many lackluster performances that left the fans wanting more. KOI did still make things competitive in the past split, finishing tied with G2 and Karmine Corp in the regular season, but ultimately faltered in the playoffs, crashing out in the lower bracket with a 3-1 defeat to Fnatic.
The LEC kicks off again this week, March 29, as Fnatic takes on GiantX in the opening game of the season. The format for this year's 2025 LEC Spring Split is a simple one; the teams will compete in a single round robin best-of-three format. Every series for the LEC this split will be fearless draft, with the top eight teams making it to the playoffs.
