What Awaits Players in Year 11 - Rainbow Six Siege Y11 Roadmap

Ubisoft has unveiled the Year 11 Roadmap for Rainbow Six Siege. The new year of game development focuses on strengthening the 5v5 core, a complete overhaul of the ranking system, and more frequent balance updates. Instead of a radical overhaul, the developers are betting on systemic changes—rank, anti-shield meta, map updates, and operator progression.

Ranked 3.0 and Legend Division

One of the key changes in Year 11 will be Ranked 3.0. Ubisoft is removing hidden MMR—now the displayed rank fully corresponds to the player's actual level. Placement matches return at the start of each season, and the rank structure becomes more transparent.

Later in the year, the Legend Division will be introduced—a separate solo-queue-only playlist for players who have reached Champion. The mode will use a regional MMR leaderboard, and the top 100 players will receive an exclusive charm with their final ranking position. Participation on PC will require Secure Boot (R6 Shield Guard), enhancing protection against cheaters.

New Content Cadence and Balance

Each season of Year 11 will be divided into four updates—two major and two targeted balance patches. Regular map rotations in Ranked are also announced.

In Season 1, developers will focus on entry and roam operators. Changes will affect Skopos, Alibi, Ela, Flores, Ying, and Amaru. Shield operators will no longer be able to ram barricades with full durability, and the Observation Blocker will be set up faster (2.5 seconds instead of 1). Skopos will become a 3-speed operator, able to breach soft walls like Aruni and switch shields faster.

Year 11 Season 1: Operation Silent Hunt

Y11S1 is scheduled to start on March 3. With the season's start, Solid Snake will become a full-fledged Siege operator as part of a collaboration with Metal Gear Solid. This is a 3-speed operator focused on reconnaissance and flexibility in the round.

Soliton Radar Mk III

Snake receives a portable radar displaying the nearest area in a mini-map format. The threat indicator shows if an enemy, active camera, or safe area is nearby. The device runs on a battery and recharges when not in use.

Precision Mode is separately available—it shows the exact location and viewing direction of nearby enemies, but it also alerts them that they are detected.

OSP Pouch

Snake starts the round with only one secondary gadget. Throughout the round, he can pick up packages from fallen operators and choose which type of secondary gadget to obtain. Available options include:

  • Breaching Charge
  • Frag Grenade
  • Flash
  • Smoke
  • EMP

This mechanic makes him one of the most adaptable attacking operators.

Armament

Snake receives:

  • F2 assault rifle (with grips restored)
  • PMR90A2 DMR
  • New Tacit.45 with integrated suppressor and reflex sight

Additionally

Season 1 will bring a new 1v1 Arcade mode, a [Redacted] event styled after Metal Gear Solid, a final Dual Front event with subsequent mode removal, and colored Black Ice skins (two packs through the Battle Pass). Three maps will also be modernized—Coastline, Villa, and Oregon.

New Map: Calypso Casino

Season 2 will introduce a new map, Calypso Casino, inspired by Rainbow Six: Vegas. It will be available in Ranked from day one.

Remaster: Dokkaebi

Dokkaebi will receive a rework. Her gadget will no longer affect all defenders at once—it will now require selecting a specific target. The operator will also receive a new primary weapon, which won't be locked behind a premium Battle Pass.

Additionally

Season 2 will also launch Ranked 3.0 in full, add native mouse and keyboard support on consoles, introduce a new weapon, a system of rotating trial operators, and an updated Esports tab with separate pages for Tier 1 teams and player stats. Additionally, three more maps will be modernized.

Year 11 Season 3

New Operator — Codename Fireworks

A new defender with the codename Fireworks will be added to the game. He is positioned as a full-fledged anti-shield pick. This is a direct response to the shield meta, which regularly sparks debates in the community.

Developers have not yet revealed all the gadget details, but confirmed that the operator will focus on creating pressure on shield attackers and complicating their aggression in site pushes. Considering the shield changes in Season 1 (ban on barricade ramming), this looks like a continuation of the overall anti-shield policy of Year 11.

Targeted Map Update — Villa

Season 3 will bring a major targeted update to Villa. The goal of the changes is to adjust the map's pace and add new pressure angles and attack options. Developers also confirmed that such targeted map updates will be released every season without a new map:

  • new breaches for aggression and rotations will be added
  • additional hatches will appear
  • one of the bomb sites will be moved to the basement

Legend Division — Start of the Elite Rank

This will be a separate competitive environment with a regional MMR leaderboard, where each match directly affects the table position. The top 100 players will receive a unique reward at the end of the season. Ubisoft has emphasized that the mode will be actively monitored to maintain competitive integrity.

Operator Mastery

Season 3 introduces a long-term progression system called Operator Mastery. As players level up, they will unlock unique ways to showcase their mastery.  Each operator will have their own development scale based on game time, individual efficiency, and completion of special tasks.

Additional Season 3 Content

Season 3 looks like a combination of rank updates, progression, and meta-control. Besides competitive changes, the season will bring: a new 3v3 Arcade mode, a Drone Racing event, one returning event, and modernization of three existing maps.

Year 11 Season 4

Final Operator Remaster

Season 4 will feature another operator remaster (name not yet revealed). Based on Year 11's logic, it can be expected to revamp an outdated character to adapt to the modern meta. A new weapon and a new secondary gadget will also be added, expanding the build variability for attackers or defenders.

Social Hub

One of the most noticeable changes will be the introduction of a new Social Hub directly in the game. Players will receive:

  • cross-platform friend list
  • ability to send and receive invites without exiting the platform menu
  • list of recently played players
  • squad invitation by code without mandatory friend addition

Ubisoft has confirmed the rework of the Hostage mode with the aim of returning it to a competitive format. Developers are collaborating with community representatives to make the mode more balanced and suitable for competitive playlists.

Testing Grounds — Halfway Reinforced Walls

In the Testing Grounds, a new mechanic of halfway reinforcements will be tested. This will allow changing the structure of defense, opening new tactical opportunities for cross-fires and lines of sight.
