The PGL Wallachia Season 5 tournament has concluded, and now we can take a look at the top ten heroes most frequently appearing in drafts. The statistics show an interesting balance between classic control, mobile initiation, and the surprising return of old favorites.
Shadow Shaman
Shadow Shaman topped the list of the most popular heroes of the tournament: he appeared in 51 matches with a win rate of 45.10%. Despite his incredible strength in pushing and control, his low survivability makes him vulnerable in dynamic battles. An average KDA of 1.87 highlights that the hero requires special caution in positioning.
Dark Willow
The second most popular is Dark Willow, appearing in 42 games with a win rate of 42.86%. Her versatility allows her to be used both in support positions and in an aggressive role. Despite not having the highest win rate, an average KDA of 2.52 makes her a valuable pick when implemented skillfully.

Puck
Puck showed the best win rate among the top three picks — 54.29% in 35 matches played. A high average KDA of 5.61 indicates that Puck remains a formidable force in skilled hands, especially when initiative and mobility are needed.
Axe
The classic initiator Axe was chosen in 33 matches, achieving a win rate of 51.52%. His KDA of 3.13 demonstrates that the hero fulfills his role — creating pressure in fights and opening opportunities for his team.

Pangolier
Pangolier appeared in 32 matches and showed a win rate of 43.75%. His versatility and high mobility make him a frequent choice for flexible strategies, although an average KDA of 3.37 indicates that not all teams managed to unlock his potential.

Other heroes in the top 10:
- Tusk — 31 games, 51.61% win rate, KDA 2.57
- Warlock — 30 games, 50.00% win rate, KDA 3.28
- Batrider — 29 games, 55.17% win rate, KDA 3.14
- Nature’s Prophet — 28 games, 75.00% win rate, KDA 3.69
- Naga Siren — 27 games, 66.67% win rate, KDA 3.70
Nature’s Prophet and Naga Siren stand out not only with a high win percentage but also stable KDA, which may indicate a return to more "greedy" strategies focusing on split-push and late game.

The current meta at PGL Wallachia Season 5 has proven open to diverse strategies: from frontline initiators to mobile mages and heroes with a strong late game. Despite their popularity, not all heroes managed to prove their effectiveness, as shown by the examples of Shadow Shaman and Dark Willow. However, picks like Nature’s Prophet and Puck demonstrated impressive performances and are sure to appear more frequently in the decisive stages of the tournament.
PGL Wallachia Season 5 took place from June 21 to 29, 2025, in Romania. The total prize pool of the tournament was $1,000,000. Details of the tournament and match results are available here.
