Riyad Masters 2024 viewers still haven't received rewards for watching the event on Twitch

One of the biggest Dota 2 events of 2024, Riyad Masters, concluded almost three months ago, but only now have certain issues come to light. Viewers who participated in the Twitch watch contest still haven't received their prizes, and the organizers have made no comment on the situation.

Reddit complaint

Yesterday, an interesting post appeared in the largest Dota 2 community on Reddit, which has over 1.6 million users. A user with the nickname tyler5durden shared his story about participating in the tournament’s watch contest on Twitch but, even three months after the event ended, has yet to see his prize.

It’s worth recalling that Esports World Cup organizers, during all their events across various disciplines, including Dota 2, provided viewers with the opportunity to receive interesting and valuable in-game rewards. Among these are expensive items such as the Dragonclaw Hook, Mace of Aeons, and many others. To participate, viewers had to follow the official Twitch stream of the event and receive “drops” to potentially win one of the featured prizes. However, as tyler5durden points out, Dota 2 viewers of Riyad Masters have not received their prizes even three months after the event’s conclusion.

Summary of the complaint

The author mentions that even after the event ended, players still didn’t receive their rewards, and the winners who claimed skins were only announced on July 30, even though Riyad Masters ended on July 21. After that, the winners, including tyler5durden, had to fill out a form on Twitch and wait for their rewards, with the organizers stating the delivery would take 2-4 weeks. It’s now October 10, meaning three months have passed, and contest participants still haven’t received their prizes. The author also notes that he’s seen multiple complaints from other viewers on Reddit who similarly haven’t received their rewards.

So far, Esports World Cup representatives have not responded to the accusations from players, and there’s no information explaining why the long-awaited prizes have been delayed for three months. Other discussion participants speculate that those responsible for distributing the prizes may have kept them for themselves, but this is just a theory.

It’s worth noting that Riyad Masters concluded on July 21, and the winner was the Gaimin Gladiators team, which earned $1.5 million in prize money. Stay tuned to our portal to learn more about the Dota 2 competitive scene.
