Fly Ends 11-Year Streak of The International Appearances

On June 15, AVULUS, the team of Tal “Fly” Aizik, was defeated by Yellow Submarine in the lower bracket of the closed qualifiers for The International 2025 in Western Europe. Previously, AVULUS also lost to 4Pirates in the first round of the upper bracket. As a result, Fly will not participate in the main Dota 2 tournament of the season for the first time since 2013.

Fly Performances at The International

Fly streak began with TI3 and continued for 11 consecutive tournaments — one of the most consistent records in The International's history. Here are all his performances:

  • TI3 (2013) – Fnatic – 7–8 place
  • TI4 (2014) – Fnatic – 13–14 place
  • TI5 (2015) – compLexity – 9–12 place
  • TI6 (2016) – OG – 9–12 place
  • TI7 (2017) – OG – 7–8 place
  • TI8 (2018) – Evil Geniuses – 3rd place
  • TI9 (2019) – Evil Geniuses – 5–6 place
  • TI10 (2021) – Evil Geniuses – 9–12 place
  • TI11 (2022) – Evil Geniuses – 9–12 place
  • TI12 (2023) – Shopify Rebellion – 16th place
  • TI13 (2024) – Nouns – 9–12 place

The end of Fly's streak is a significant milestone in esports. He remained one of the few players consistently qualifying for each TI since 2013, despite changing teams and regions. Now, the era of his consistent participation has come to an end.
