Valve significantly altered five items: Gleipnir, Khanda, Revenant's Brooch, Heaven's Halberd, and Orb of Corrosion. Below are the details of these changes.

Gleipnir

• Recipe changed: now requires Point Booster (1,200 gold) instead of Maelstrom (2,950 gold).
• Recipe cost increased: from 550 to 1,100 gold. Total cost reduced: from 5,750 to 4,550 gold.
• New bonuses: the item now provides +75 to spell effect radius and +200 mana.
• Attribute changes:
• Health bonus increased from +275 to +450.
• Intelligence bonus decreased from +24 to +15.
• Ability Eternal Chains:
• No longer deals damage.
• Range reduced from 350 to 275 (with the new bonus to spell effect radius, the actual range remains the same).
• Mana cost reduced from 200 to 100.
• Removed ability: Chain Lightning.

Khanda

• Recipe changed: now requires Tiara of Selemene (1,800 gold) instead of Crystalys (2,000 gold).
• Recipe cost increased: from 500 to 1,500 gold. Total cost increased: from 5,100 to 5,900 gold.
• New bonuses: now the item provides +8 to mana regeneration instead of +50 damage.
• Ability changes:
• Removed ability: Critical Strike.
• Empower Spell no longer deals attack damage to the target.
• Spell damage bonus from Empower Spell increased from 150% to 250%.
• Empower Spell now applies a "disarm" effect, disabling the target's passive abilities for the duration.
• Slow from Empower Spell reduced from 50% to 30%.
• Slow duration increased from 1.5 to 3 seconds.

Revenant's Brooch

• Recipe changed: now requires Crystalys (2,000 gold), Voodoo Mask (700 gold), and a recipe (600 gold). Total cost: 3,300 gold.
• New bonuses: item provides +35 damage and +16% spell lifesteal.
• Removed ability: Phantom Province.
• New passive ability: Phantom Critical — each attack has a 30% chance to deal additional magic damage equal to 80% of the owner's damage. This hit is considered critical for all other sources of critical damage. The effect does not apply to buildings.

Heaven's Halberd

• Recipe changed: now requires Vanguard (1,700 gold), Crown (450 gold), Ring of Regen (175 gold), and a recipe (275 gold). Total cost: 2,600 gold.
• New bonuses: item provides +275 health, +6 health regeneration, and +5 to all attributes.
• Passive ability: Damage Block — gives a 60% chance to block 60 damage from attacks for melee heroes and 30 damage for ranged heroes.
• Active ability: Disarm can now be dispelled.
• Mana cost reduced from 75 to 25.
• Effect duration on ranged heroes decreased from 5 to 4 seconds.

Orb of Corrosion

• Recipe changed: now requires Orb of Frost (250 gold), Orb of Blight (300 gold), and Band of Elvenskin (450 gold). Total cost: 1,000 gold.
• New bonuses: item provides +8 agility.
• Passive ability: Corrosion — on attack:
• Slows the enemy by 16% (for ranged heroes) or 6% (for melee heroes).
• Reduces the target's health regeneration by 20%.
• Lowers the target's armor by 3.
• Effect lasts for 3 seconds.
• Armor reduction does not stack with effects from the item's components, as well as with Desolator or Stygian Desolator.
