Valve has announced the start of the annual Dota 2 short film contest. For the past ten years, this creative marathon has attracted thousands of entries from fans worldwide, with the best being featured during The International broadcast. This year, the tradition continues: the 2025 contest is now open for participants.

To submit an entry, you must upload a short video no longer than 90 seconds to the Dota 2 Workshop by 00:00 on August 18, 2025, CET. According to the developers, discussions and evaluations within the Workshop will help form the list of finalists, from which a final vote will be held in the game client.

The creators of the top three videos will receive cash prizes:

• 1st place — $25,000
• 2nd place — $10,000
• 3rd place — $5,000

The remaining participants in the top 10 will receive $500 each. All ten finalists will be showcased during the September broadcast of The International 2025, which will take place in Hamburg.

As a reminder, last year, the first place was claimed by the video At Any Cost by dmurio, followed by Support by Nightfury Treann and The Sphere Master by Mikhail Pakhomov.
