In patch 7.38, Roshan, as before, moves between pits, but now he travels across the central river. Players quickly found a way to exploit this: one Reddit user demonstrated how to kill Roshan during his transition from one pit to another.

The essence of the strategy: when playing as Techies, you need to place mines along Roshan's path in advance. When Roshan starts moving, he gradually triggers the mines and dies before reaching the new pit. This method allows you to take Aegis without a fight but requires significant preparation and map control.

Also in patch 7.38, the two Roshan pits have moved to the river, to spots near the runes. Roshan will spawn in the southern cave at the start of the match, and will move with the change of day and night. The monster will walk, pushing away any units that happen to be in his path.
