BLAST Slam 2024: A New Major Tournament in Esports

The organizers of BLAST have finally announced the eagerly awaited BLAST Slam tournament, which promises to be a major event in the esports world. The first tournament will take place on November 26, 2024, in Copenhagen, at the BLAST studio. It will feature 10 invited teams competing for a prize pool of $1,000,000.

This tournament is intriguing as it brings together the best players from around the globe and promises exciting matches. The competition format offers a unique structure where no team is eliminated after the first stage, adding extra intrigue.

Background and Format of the Tournament

BLAST Slam will consist of two stages. In the first stage, which will take place online, teams will be divided into two groups of 5 participants each and will play in a round-robin system in the Best of 1 (bo1) format. Depending on their position in the group, teams will advance to the playoffs, which will begin at the BLAST studio.

It is important to note that no participants are eliminated during the group stage, giving all teams the chance to compete for top positions. The group winners will start from the semifinals, while lower-ranking teams will enter earlier stages.

Main Stages of the Tournament

In the gauntlet stage, teams will compete in crossover matches, where losers will exit the tournament. All matches will be held in the Best of 3 (bo3) format up to the grand final, which promises to be an exciting conclusion to this esports event. The crossover match format ensures that only the strongest teams make it to the final stages.
