After a disappointing performance at The International 2024, which ended far from the expectations of Team Spirit fans, the roster underwent a significant upheaval. The failure at the year's main tournament severely impacted the motivation of the team's key players. Yatoro and Collapse, who had previously led the team to legendary victories at two TIs, decided to take a break until the 2025 season. Many believed that the era of the "dragons" had passed.
However, this break seemed to be a turning point. In March 2025, Team Spirit returned to the scene with renewed focus, strict discipline, and the motivation to prove they are still among the world's best. At DreamLeague Season 25, the team claimed their first gold of the season, signaling to the entire scene that Spirit was back.

Despite some fluctuations in results during spring, including a top-6 finish at PGL Wallachia S4 and FISSURE Universe: Episode 4, Team Spirit gradually gained momentum. By April, they were silver medalists at ESL One Raleigh 2025, and in May, they solidified their status as a top team with bronze at BLAST Slam III. However, the real breakthrough came in July — on the main stage of the Esports World Cup 2025.
Dominance at EWC 2025
At the Esports World Cup 2025, Team Spirit showcased not just a high level of play — they appeared unbeatable. In the group stage, their only setback was a 1:1 draw against Xtreme Gaming on the first day. But after that, the team didn't lose a single map!
In the playoffs, Spirit demonstrated maximum discipline, precision, and composure. Each map played out like a script: precise laning, incredible macro control, and constant pressure on the opponent. Yatoro once again became the carry-monster whose mere presence changed the game's dynamics. Meanwhile, Collapse was an unwavering pillar on the offlane, executing his initiations with pixel-perfect accuracy. Interestingly, Collapse played all 13 maps in the tournament on different heroes. Larl, Rue, and Miposhka — the entire team functioned like a well-oiled machine.
In the grand final, Team Spirit closed the series without giving their opponents a chance, proving they are currently one of the strongest teams in the world.

Historic Achievement
This title not only confirmed Team Spirit's return to championship form. The team made history as the first to win the Esports World Cup with Dota 2 twice. The first time was in 2023, when the tournament was still known as Riyadh Masters. And now, in 2025, Spirit once again raises the trophy, solidifying their legendary status on the Dota scene.

The return of Team Spirit is a story of resilience, the ability to analyze defeats, and work on mistakes. After a tough end to 2024, the team not only didn't break down but transformed. And now, after dominating at EWC 2025, there's no doubt about their right to be called one of the best. The next stop is TI 2025, where Spirit will undoubtedly be among the main favorites.
