Team Records: Most Games Played, Highest Win Rate, Versatility
Over the past year, Team Liquid played the most matches, with a total of 219 games! The International champions were active in numerous events, refining their skills and strategies, ultimately securing the coveted Aegis.
While Team Liquid played the most games, another team claimed the title for the best win rate in 2024. Team Falcons achieved an impressive 68% win rate, securing the highest number of victories. They also took home the most prize money of the year, earning nearly $3.5 million.
Next, we have to give our credits to those who excel in versatility, so here's a highlight to those with wide hero pools. In 2024, Gaimin Gladiators proved most versatile with 112 different heroes picked in their games. That is almost 90% of all playable Dota 2 heroes in competitive! Now this massive hero pool is courtesy of their former carry player, dyrachyo, who played 41 unique heroes in 2024.
Most Successful Hero
Now let's look at hero records. Which hero shined in 2024?
In the past year, Weaver has been the most successful hero, considering all factors. This bug is incredibly versatile in terms of role, as it had been played in ALL positions (yes, including the midlane which happened once). Weaver had 410 total picks and holds a 54% win rate.
You may be wondering, who played this hero the most? The answer is Team Falcons' skiter, who consistently played Weaver throughout the year, picking it up 27 total times. It is also skiter's highest win rate hero at 77%.
Weaver may be successful, but it is not the most popular. Which hero was the most-picked and most-banned of 2024?
Most Picked and Banned Heroes
Tiny has the highest picks at 522 and a decent 51% win rate. The little rock is also a versatile pick as teams have used it in the safelane, midlane, and even the offlane.
Meanwhile, the most-banned hero is Chen with a massive 924 bans! This niche and complex hero is not the go-to for most players, but in the hands of Chen experts, it can unleash nightmares. Chen is also the first stage ban for the majority of Dota 2 games in the past year!
Now let's dive into the most-picked heroes by role.
Role | Hero | Total Picks |
Pos 1 [Carry] | Morphling | 288 |
Pos 2 [Midlane] | Pangolier | 344 |
Pos 3 [Offlane] | Centaur Warrunner | 426 |

Game Records: Longest and Shortest Match
Long games are often some of the most exciting moments in Dota 2. There's something exhilarating about watching the game timer tick past 50 minutes, 60 minutes, and beyond. So, which match in 2024 had the longest duration?
The longest game of the year was between Team Spirit and Gaimin Gladiators, lasting a staggering 1 hour, 35 minutes, and 39 seconds. This intense battle took place during DreamLeague Season 22, Group Stage 2. Gaimin Gladiators emerged victorious in this marathon match, and they went on to win the following game as well.
This match also set several other records. Yatoro's Phantom Assassin achieved an incredible 1,729 total last hits, the highest of the year, and reached a net worth of 73,567. Additionally, this game saw Roshan being slain a record 13 times!
On the other hand, the shortest game of the year was set by LGD vs NAVI at only 13 minutes and 21 seconds! Tormentor hasn't even spawned yet, and the white flag is pulled out. This match took place during the Clavision DOTA League S1: Snow Ruyi event, and NAVI prevailed to win the short match.
