With the release of the major update Rainbow Six Siege X on June 10, 2025, many players encountered an annoying technical issue — an error during the installation or update of the anti-cheat BattlEye. On social media and community channels, dozens of users are complaining that the game freezes at the stage of launching the BattlEye service and does not allow entry into a match.

What to do if BattlEye won't start?
- Launch the game with a VPN enabled, wait for BattlEye to install, then disable the VPN.
- Restart Ubisoft Connect.
- Disable antivirus and firewall.
- Completely reinstall BattlEye.
- Launch the game directly from the root folder.
- Change DNS to public:
8.8.8.8
and8.8.4.4

Release of Siege X
The problem with BattlEye is especially critical against the backdrop of the Siege X launch — an update that marked the beginning of a new era for the game. It became part of the second season of the tenth year (Y10S2) and brought a number of key changes:
- Free access: main modes are now available for free.
- New Dual Front mode (6v6) with updated mechanics.
- Operator rebalance, including reworks for Clash, Jackal, Thunderbird, and others.
- Improved graphics and sound, updated maps (e.g., Chalet and Bank).
- New Bravo Y10 cosmetic set, including forgotten items from years 1–6.
Ubisoft positions Siege X as a "relaunch" of the franchise. Developers promise to continue releasing updates — in particular, on June 17, a Paragon skin for Valkyrie will appear in the game, along with new Twitch Drops and TikTok Drops.
The update became available on June 10 after technical maintenance at 4:00 PM CEST. The patch size depends on the platform:
- Ubisoft Connect — 51.9 GB (91.53 GB with Ultra HD Textures)
- Steam — 32.3 GB
- PlayStation 5 — 48.63 GB
- Xbox Series X|S — 57.6 GB

In the coming months, players can expect new maps, operators, and other updates. But to appreciate everything Ubisoft has prepared, you need to at least launch the game — which means solving the BattlEye issue.
