What FOV setting do you use in Rainbow Six Siege and why? Any tips for finding the right balance between visibility and performance?

Max FOV always. More vision = more info. Don't care about the slight performance hit

I've experimented with different FOV settings over my 1000+ hours in Siege, and I've settled on 85 FOV. It gives me enough peripheral vision to catch flankers while keeping enemies at a reasonable size for precise aiming. Higher FOV like 90+ can make long-range engagements harder because targets appear smaller, which is crucial in a game where headshots are king. The key is finding what works for your monitor size and sitting distance.

90 FOV is my sweet spot. Good balance between seeing more and keeping enemies at decent size for headshots.

I stick with default. Changed it once, felt weird, went back. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

84 FOV here. Anything higher makes distant enemies too small on my 24" monitor

FOV choice really depends on your setup and playstyle. I run 87 FOV on a 27" monitor sitting about 2 feet away. The most important thing people forget is that you can change FOV anytime - even mid-match if needed! I sometimes adjust it between rounds depending on the map. Close-quarters maps like House or Plane, I might bump it up to 90 for better corner clearing. Longer range maps like Villa or Consulate, I drop it to 82-84 for better target acquisition. Don't be afraid to experiment and use that "Default" button to reset if you mess up your settings!
