Vitality have won IEM Katowice 2025 after a dominant 3-0 victory over Spirit in the grand final. This marks Vitality’s first major title of the year and their first big win since Robin "ropz" Kool joined the team. The team takes home $460,000, while Spirit, who put up a strong fight throughout the tournament, settle for $216,000.
The next big event, PGL Cluj-Napoka 2025, kicks off on February 14, but both finalists will be skipping it. This means we won’t see Vitality or Spirit in action until ESL Pro League Season 21 in a month’s time.
But before we move on, let’s take a moment to celebrate the standout player of IEM Katowice 2025—Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut, who claimed the MVP award after an incredible tournament performance.

ZywOo Dominates Katowice – MVP Performance
ZywOo started the event slowly, but once the playoffs arrived, he shifted into a higher gear. His final performance was on another level, with a massive rating of 8.2 in the grand final. On Nuke, he reached a perfect rating of 10, putting in one of the best individual map performances of his career.
Vitality only dropped one map in the entire tournament, showcasing their strength after ropz joined the roster. With ZywOo leading the charge, the team looks unstoppable as they move forward into 2025.
ZywOo’s Match Ratings at IEM Katowice 2025:
- vs 3DMAX – 6.8
- vs FaZe – 6.9
- vs Virtus.pro – 7.4
- vs The MongolZ (semis) – 7.9

This MVP award is just the latest in ZywOo’s long list of achievements, and if he continues at this level, he could dominate 2025 just as he did in previous years.

EVPs (Exceptional Valuable Players) of IEM Katowice 2025
While ZywOo was the standout star, several other players also had an incredible tournament. These players came close to winning MVP but fell just short.
Danil "donk" Kryshkovets – Rating 7.2

Valerii "b1t" Vakhovskyi – Rating 6.9
b1t continues his strong form in 2025, but NAVI have struggled against Spirit, losing to them twice in the semifinals at both BLAST Bounty 2025 and IEM Katowice 2025. Despite this, b1t remained one of NAVI’s most reliable players, and if his team fixes their issues, he could be a strong MVP contender in the future.
Robin "ropz" Kool – Rating 6.7
This was ropz’s second event with Vitality, and already he has helped the team win a major tournament. His individual performance was also top-tier, proving that Vitality made the right choice in signing him. He played an outstanding grand final, especially on Dust2, where he posted a 9.9 rating—the highest rating of any player in the final.
Shahar "flameZ" Shushan – Rating 6.6
flameZ has stepped into a new aggressive role and has already helped Vitality find success. He performed exceptionally well in the group stage, but his form dropped slightly in the playoffs. Still, he was a crucial part of Vitality’s title run and deserves recognition for his impact.

What’s Next?
With IEM Katowice 2025 wrapped up, Vitality look like the team to beat. ZywOo is in top form, ropz is fitting in perfectly, and flameZ is adapting well to his new role. Meanwhile, Spirit, NAVI, and Eternal Fire will look to close the gap as we move deeper into the 2025 season.
The next big event, PGL Cluj-Napoka 2025 with $1,250,000 prize pool, kicks off on February 14, but Vitality and Spirit will not be attending. Instead, their next challenge will be ESL Pro League Season 21 in March.
