BLAST Bounty Spring 2025, the first major LAN tournament of the new year, brought many highlights and unexpected results. Eight teams took part in the competition and competed for a prize pool of $500,000. The tournament ended with a confident victory for Team Spirit, who defeated Eternal Fire in the final with a score of 3:1. However, the main topics were not only Spirit's triumph, but also BetBoom's Team failure, the unexpected breakthrough of the Turkish team, and NAVI's prospects.
BetBoom Team: a failure that could have been avoided
One of the main disappointments of the tournament was the Russian team BetBoom Team. Due to visa problems, the team did not arrive at the tournament in the optimal composition, Boombl4 and zorte did not come to LAN, instead nafany and KaiR0N- played, which significantly weakened the team. This looks like a serious miscalculation by the management, as such issues should have been resolved in advance. BetBoom Team failed to impose a fight on any opponent and ended their performance in the quarterfinals, losing to G2 Esports with a score of 0:2. Considering the team's ambitions and the level of their opponents, this result was a real failure.
Eternal Fire: Turkish breakthrough that impressed everyone
The Turkish team Eternal Fire became a real sensation of the tournament. Already in the quarterfinals, they destroyed Vitality (2:0), one of the main favorites of the tournament. In the semifinals, the Turks continued their triumphant path, defeating G2 Esports (2:1), who were also among the title contenders.
The final against Team Spirit, however, was a tough test for Eternal Fire. They lost with a score of 1:3, unable to cope with the pressure and high level of their opponent's game. Nevertheless, the second place and $85,625 in prize money is a fantastic start to the year for the Turkish team. This result gives us hope that Eternal Fire will become a serious contender at major tournaments in 2025.
Natus Vincere: not yet in form, but there are prospects
NAVI also failed to reach the final, but their performance left a positive impression. In the quarterfinals, the team defeated paiN Gaming (2:1), demonstrating stability in important moments. The semifinal against Team Spirit was a challenge they were unable to meet: a 0:2 defeat.
Nevertheless, NAVI showed that the team is gradually gaining form. Taking into account the team's failure at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 and the transition period, the semifinals of such a prestigious tournament looks like a good result. The following months will show whether they can return to their best level.
Team Spirit: dominance of the new champion
Team Spirit confirmed their status as one of the best teams in the world. Throughout the tournament, they showed excellent teamwork and high individual skills. In the quarterfinals, they easily defeated Heroic (2:0), who, by the way, performed very poorly. In the semifinals, Spirit confidently defeated NAVI (2:0), and in the final, they left Eternal Fire no chance (3:1).
The excellent play throughout the tournament brought Spirit the main prize of $288,125 and confirmed their status as the leader of the world stage. This triumph is an important step towards dominance in 2025.
Individual performances
BLAST Bounty Spring 2025 was held according to the Single-Elimination system. Quarterfinals and semifinals were held in Bo3 format, and the grand final was held in Bo5. The tournament was held in Copenhagen, and BLAST organization once again demonstrated a high level of competition.
BLAST Bounty Spring 2025 was a great start to the year for the CS2 scene. The tournament showed that the competition is growing, and new teams like Eternal Fire can surprise even the strongest opponents.
