Team Vitality keep making history. After winning their fourth trophy in 2025 and lifting the ESL Grand Slam Season 5, they are now one step away from starting their own era in CS2.
Their performance is incredible — they haven't lost a match in 21 matches, building an unbelievable win streak that no one else can match right now. Vitality look unstoppable, both in teamplay and individual skill.
What Is ESL Grand Slam?
The ESL Grand Slam is one of the hardest achievements in CS2. To win it, a team needs to win 4 out of 10 top ESL tournaments. Importantly, one of these wins must be a "big event," such as IEM Katowice, IEM Cologne, or an ESL Major.
Until 2025, it was called the Intel Grand Slam because Intel sponsored it. Now it’s just ESL Grand Slam, but the prize remains the same: $1,000,000 in gold bars.
The sixth season of the Grand Slam will start soon at IEM Dallas 2025. Since all previous points have been reset, all teams start from zero again. Vitality will be there, ready to start building another Grand Slam run.
How Vitality won ESL Grand Slam 5
Vitality’s road to Grand Slam glory began in 2024 with their win at IEM Cologne 2024. In that tournament, they beat NAVI in an unforgettable final, showing strong teamwork and individual talent.
However, after Cologne, Vitality struggled. They did not reach another ESL final for the rest of 2024. The team looked good but not dominant.
- IEM Katowice 2025: Vitality beat Spirit, their main rival, and earned the first big win needed for the Grand Slam.
- ESL Pro League Season 21: They defeated MOUZ, proving that Katowice was no accident.
- IEM Melbourne 2025: Vitality closed the deal by beating Falcons in the final and winning their fourth title.
Three different big wins in just a few months. Vitality became only the fifth team in CS history to lift the Grand Slam trophy. And all this while building a 21-match win streak, something almost unheard of at the highest level.
ropz: A special achievement
Ropz made history in a different way. Even though he wasn't part of the Vitality lineup that won Cologne 2024, he helped them win three of the four needed tournaments.
This makes ropz the second player ever to win the Grand Slam with two different teams:
- First with FaZe Clan, now with Vitality.
Previous ESL Grand Slam champions
Astralis (Season 1)
Astralis dominated 2018. Their Grand Slam started at DreamHack Masters Marseille 2018, followed by victories at ESL Pro League Season 7, IEM Chicago 2018, and ESL Pro League Season 8. They were the first team ever to complete the Grand Slam.
Team Liquid (Season 2)
Liquid finished their Grand Slam faster than anyone else. Starting at IEM Sydney 2019, they then won IEM Dallas 2019, ESL Pro League Season 9, and IEM Cologne 2019. They crushed Vitality in that Cologne final.
Natus Vincere (Season 3)
NAVI's road was harder. They won IEM Katowice 2020, but COVID-19 paused tournaments. They restarted their journey with wins at DreamHack Masters Spring 2021, IEM Cologne 2021, and ESL Pro League Season 14, where they beat Vitality in the final.
FaZe Clan (Season 4)
FaZe started strong with IEM Katowice 2022, then won ESL Pro League Season 15 and IEM Cologne 2022. After a long break, they finished their Grand Slam at ESL Pro League Season 17 in March 2023.
Vitality (Season 5)
Now, Vitality join this elite club with their fourth title in 2025. Their combination of smart roster changes, strong leadership, and ZywOo's insane performances make them deadly.
What Comes Next?
With the ESL Grand Slam complete and a 21-match win streak, Vitality are building something very special.
The final piece that could truly confirm their era will be the next Major. If Vitality lift that trophy too, no one will doubt that we are living in the Vitality Era.
They have the roster, the form, and the hunger to dominate 2025 and maybe even 2026. Only time will tell, but right now, Vitality are not just winning — they are making history.
