May 2025 was full of high-level Counter-Strike. Vitality continued their dominance by winning both IEM Dallas 2025 and BLAST Rivals Spring. Spirit also picked up a trophy at PGL Astana 2025. Some stars were on fire, others surprised us, and a few kept proving why they belong at the top. Here's our list of the 10 best CS2 players of May 2025, based on stats, MVP/EVP awards, and team results.
To determine the best CS2 player of May 2025, we conducted a detailed analysis of all professional players who participated in BLAST Rivals Spring, PGL Astana 2025, and IEM Dallas 2025. The evaluation was based on individual statistical metrics, including:
Although we reserve the right to keep the Bo3.gg CS2 player rating formula confidential, we are ready to reveal some key elements.
At the core of the rating system is an advanced player evaluation model consisting of eight sub-ratings that assess statistical data, including damage dealt, number of kills, and survival. These metrics are considered in the context of a specific map, side (T or CT), and team economy. To ensure objectivity, a player's stats are compared to the average values on the professional scene under the same conditions.
Each of the eight sub-ratings has a different level of importance. For example, the kill rating has a greater impact on the final score than the survival rating. Based on the individual sub-ratings, a player’s rating is calculated for each round played, then for the entire map and match.
The final player rating is expressed on a scale from 0 to 10, where 0 is the lowest value and 10 is the highest.
Myroslav "zont1x" Plakhotia was solid this month. He earned an EVP for his role in Spirit’s PGL Astana win and had a good rating of 6.1. Most of his strong stats came against weaker teams, but he stayed consistent. Not flashy, but effective—especially during Spirit’s deep runs.
The Hungarian AWPer remains MOUZ’s most stable player. He had a great showing at IEM Dallas with a rating of 6.6 and just 0.55 deaths per round. He also earned an EVP and was even in the MVP conversation. Ádám "torzsi" Torzsás keeps stepping up when it matters.
Robin "ropz" Kool got an EVP award in May as Vitality won both IEM Dallas and BLAST Rivals Spring. His rating of 6.4 doesn’t fully show how much impact he brings to this team. ropz’s calm, clean style fits perfectly with Vitality’s winning formula.
Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut had a “quiet” month by his own standards—but still won two MVPs. Vitality won both events they played, and he led the way with a 6.9 rating. His numbers dipped a bit, but make no mistake: he’s still the most complete player in the game today.
Donk was unstoppable at PGL Astana. He earned an MVP, an EVP, and crushed the stats with a 7.5 rating, 0.98 KPR, and 99 ADR. His form was one of the best we’ve seen all year. When donk is on fire, no one wants to face Spirit.
May 2025 showed us a mix of dominance and rising stars. donk and ZywOo continue their race for the #1 spot this year. m0NESY is closing in fast. Ropz, stavn, and torzsi all proved their worth, while XANTARES and sh1ro remain rocks for their teams. With the Austin Major up next, expect even more fireworks from these players and maybe a few new names in June’s list.
