The StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2025 has ended in Budapest, and as expected, NAVI came out on top. The tournament had a $500,000 prize pool and featured only one real Tier-1 team: NAVI. With most top teams skipping the event, NAVI were the clear favorites, and they delivered with a dominant performance.
NAVI’s Road to the Trophy
NAVI dropped just one map in the whole event – against 9INE in their opening match. After that, they went on a six-map winning streak, taking down Passion UA and NIP without much trouble.
The win not only gave NAVI $200,000, but also a direct invite to the second stage of the next Major. They cannot reach the third stage directly anymore – it’s too late to collect enough Valve ranking points. But securing the second stage is still a big achievement.
For NAVI, this was also a chance to rebuild confidence. After a very poor run following their strong start at IEM Cologne, the team needed a result. Against weaker opponents, they finally showed stability and looked much sharper than in recent weeks.

NIP’s Boost in Ranking
The finalists NIP also benefited a lot from this event. Even though they lost 2:0 in the grand final, their second-place finish gave them about 200 Valve points and helped them climb eight places in the ranking.
This doesn’t guarantee them a Major spot yet, but it puts them back into the race. With $130,000 and a much stronger position in the standings, NIP now have the chance to fight for a ticket at the last events before October.

B8 Stay in the Race
B8 also had a very productive tournament. With a third-place finish, they earned over 200 points in the Valve ranking and jumped ten spots higher. This keeps them close to NIP in the battle for the last European Major slots.
Still, B8 could have done better. They had chances to upset stronger teams but fell short. For them, this event was more about survival in the rankings than about chasing a trophy.

Passion UA: Critical Tournament
For Passion UA, this was a must-play event. Since they bought the core of Complexity earlier this year, the team has been struggling to collect results. Their last meaningful Valve points came all the way back in April at PGL Bucharest 2025, when Complexity finished fourth.
In Budapest, Passion UA at least managed to stop the slide. Their performance earned them more than 60 points, which should guarantee them a place at the first stage of the Major. It’s not enough for a direct invite to the second or third stage, but it gives them some breathing room.

Smaller Teams Also Benefit
Even for the teams finishing at the bottom, StarLadder was valuable. With a minimum prize of $10,000, OG and 9INE received a boost in the Valve ranking. For Tier-2 lineups, this is a huge deal compared to online events, where prize money is much smaller and ranking points are limited.

What the Event Means for the Scene
StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2025 was not the strongest event in terms of participants. But it showed something important: how different the CS2 scene could look if top teams played fewer tournaments and let others have a chance.
When Tier-1 teams try to attend every single event, the calendar gets overloaded. This causes scheduling chaos, like what we saw with IEM Dallas and PGL Astana, where teams were late to Dallas because they went deep in Astana. Or with PGL Masters Bucharest 2025, which had to move its final to avoid a clash with IEM Chengdu.
If fewer Tier-1 teams played every event, smaller teams would get more LAN chances, more prize money, and more Valve points. This would make the rankings fairer and more competitive.
Right now, however, some Tier-1 teams hold their spots in the rankings without delivering results. Teams like 3DMAX, HEROIC, GamerLegion, paiN, and Liquid often get direct invites, win one or two matches, and still stay in the top positions. Meanwhile, hungrier Tier-2 teams struggle for opportunities.

StarLadder’s comeback event was far from perfect, but it had a big impact. It gave NAVI a much-needed trophy and confidence. It helped NIP and B8 move closer to the Major. It kept Passion UA alive in the race. And it gave smaller teams extra prize money and points.
In the end, StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2025 showed how much a mid-tier LAN can matter in the current CS2 landscape. It wasn’t about star power – it was about survival, points, and chances.
